I am a librarian working for the Bureau of International Information Program’s Office of American Spaces at the U.S. Department of State on behalf of Cherokee Nation Businesses.

My duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing quantitative data and qualitative reporting submitted by overseas posts about the American Spaces program for use by the Office, the Bureau, the Department, and other government stakeholders.
  • Managing access to the Office’s virtual library and other Office and Bureau-provided electronic resources.
  • Providing timely animated gifs related to coffee.

This one’s my favorite, although
I wasn’t the one in my office who discovered it.

I graduated from the University of Maryland’s iSchool in 2008 with a Master’s degree in Library Science. My master’s thesis is “Advanced Content In State E-Government: Criteria for Evaluation,” and it is woefully out of date. But it did get me an MLS and a Library of Congress authority record.

My wife, son, dog, and I live in Rockville, MD and yes, we are familiar with the song by R.E.M.
